Find your Wonde details
Your data manager or IT lead almost certainly already has these — a school ID and an access token from Wonde. If your school isn't on Wonde yet, the Wonde team will help you onboard.

Choose what to sync
Tick the categories you want to pull across — students, staff, classes, parents, timetables. Decide whether absence reports should be sent back to your MIS too. Toggle anything off later.

Run the first sync
Your user groups appear in Ask.School ready to use. Year groups, forms, tutor groups and option blocks all become permission groups. Wonde-synced groups are locked, so they can't drift from your MIS by accident.

Set the schedule
Pick how often Ask.School checks Wonde for changes — daily for most schools, more often if your timetable changes a lot. From then on, it looks after itself.

Wonde + Ask.School, in plain English
Do I have to use Wonde?
No — but it makes things much easier. Without Wonde you can still upload rosters as CSVs, but you'll be doing it manually. With Wonde, the chatbot just stays accurate.
How fresh is the data?
Ask.School syncs with Wonde once a day, automatically. If you need an immediate update — for example, when you've just admitted a new starter or made a last-minute timetable change — you can trigger a manual sync from the dashboard at any time.
What about leavers?
When a student is taken off the MIS roll, the next sync removes them from Ask.School automatically. Manual decisions you've made (like deactivating a specific account) always win — Wonde won't reinstate them.
Is it secure?
